About Yasmin

Championing Dignity, Access, and Justice
YASMIN ATWAL is a passionate youth advocate dedicated to advancing disability inclusion, accessibility, climate justice, and legal literacy. Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to equity and the belief that young people should be empowered not only to participate in society but to shape it.
Driven by the conviction that education is a fundamental right, Yasmin focuses on ensuring that every student—regardless of ability or background—has access to inclusive, respectful, and barrier-free learning environments. She strongly believes that understanding one’s legal rights is essential to achieving this goal, and she actively promotes legal literacy as a tool for empowerment, self-advocacy, and meaningful participation.
Through her advocacy, Yasmin continues to amplify the voices of marginalized communities, raise awareness on pressing social issues, and champion systems that uphold dignity, accessibility, and justice for all.
Advocacy in Action
her works include…
Legal Empowerment
Yasmin’s work in Legal Empowerment centers on making rights-based knowledge accessible, especially for young people navigating education and social systems. Through Yasmin’s Legal Lounge, she translates complex legal concepts into clear, engaging content that promotes awareness of rights, accessibility, and inclusion. Her approach emphasizes that legal literacy is not just knowledge, but a tool for self-advocacy and systemic change. By equipping students with the confidence to understand and assert their rights, she helps foster a generation that is informed, empowered, and prepared to challenge inequality.
Climate Justice
Yasmin approaches Climate Justice as a human rights issue, recognizing that the impacts of climate change are deeply unequal. As co-founder of Green Teen Generation, she has led initiatives that turn youth-driven ideas into measurable environmental action, including a reforestation project that planted over 1,000 trees and removed tens of thousands of pounds of pollutants from the air. Her work extends to large-scale environmental education campaigns, reaching over 80,000 schools across North America and engaging millions of students in practical sustainability efforts. She has also addressed critical issues such as the monetization of wildlife and its link to global warming, as well as the disproportionate effects of climate disasters on vulnerable communities. Through her advocacy, she promotes inclusive, actionable solutions that connect environmental sustainability with equity and justice.
Global Advocacy
Yasmin’s Global Advocacy reflects her leadership in bringing youth voices into international and high-impact spaces. She has participated in global platforms such as the United Nations, including the ECOSOC Youth Forum, where she speaks on rights-based approaches to climate justice. As a TEDx speaker and internationally recognized youth leader, she has been honored for her contributions to sustainability and global impact. Through initiatives like the World Youth Sustainability Summit, she has brought together young leaders and experts to collaborate on urgent global challenges. Her work ensures that youth are not only represented but also actively shaping conversations and solutions at a global level.
